ICT tools

Whenever anyone ask about the ICT tools we can easily start listing the names of different tools. But we can't explain why those tools are important and how we can use those tools in our daily life. We learnt many tools but here I am going to share only two tools. That is Padlet and digital story telling.

Padlet:

What is padlet?

Padlet is an online virtual platform where students and teachers can collaborate, share works, links in a secure location. Padlet is easy to use and very handy. Whoever has padlet board opened on his smartphone or laptop will see what's on that what's students are writing. Students simply need to take a tool and begin adding every little sticky notes online. They will see all the idea's gathered on the teachers board.

How to use Padlet?

Using the padlet within the classroom is simple. You will be able to install the padlet app for apple or android on your phone or simply from the website.

Then create an account and make your initial board. Once you have alone the initial board then create a board for students. To share the padlet board, choose QR code or a link. Once you create a padlet board then it will be an amazing app to share things with the students.

Ways to use padlet in the classroom:

Padlet reach as ways as your imagination. While teaching the students we can use this tool as an educational app and make the classroom environment more happening. So, let me offer some padlets ideas that you all can use inside the classroom. We have learnt  many but from all that ideas I have selected only two ideas.

1) Brainstorming on a topic:

This lesson plan is maybe the foremost fashionable among lecturers. That’s why I have place it initial on this list. Give a statement students need to discuss or a project regarding that students need to brainstorm. Share the board and let students share their ideas and comments. This way, each student will see what the others supposeyou'll discuss some of the given answers with the total category.

2) Online student Portfolio:

Use Padlet as a student portfolio tool. produce boards for each student and allow them to post assignments, articles and comes on that. As a tutoryou'll discuss every one and provides immediate feedback. Whenever a student finds one thing useful for his portfolio, he simply should put it aside on his portfolio Padlet board. No additional piece of writing and printing articles.

Digital Story Telling:

What is mean by digital story telling?

Story telling is a very important part while teaching. Students will be more engaged in the lesson if the teacher start the lesson through a small story. But now everything is running under the technology even the story telling has become digital now. Digital story is a multimedia presentation combining a variety of digital elements within a narrative structure or retelling something using videos. While doing a digital story we need to focus on 4 steps. That is production, language, representation and Audience. Ans also it must include a beginning, middle and the end. Then only it will become a story.

Benefits of digital storytelling:

Lead with the narrative:

Great digital stories are rooted in their narratives. The sweetness of digital stories is that the narrative follows the same story that has always been a part of oral and written story. Making digital stories become kids great presenters and writers.

Technical skill development:

During the many hours spent writing videos, students got to decide when to zoom, which image is best and when to feature voice. Learning these technical skills make children progressively more interesting and engaging videos.  And also students presentation skill also will increase day by day.
